Lumsk goes to Denmark!

In January we got a request from My at "Metalgrotten" in Aalborg to do a gig at their place. This sounded exciting to us, and we started looking for other places to play in Denmark. A lot of people told us not to go to Denmark, as the market for metal is not that good they told us... |

Day 1 - Tuesday the 10th of June Eystein rented a car early in the morning while the rest of the band got the equipment into our hanger. Left Trondheim at 10.00. We had an agreement with Wildside Radio to do an interview, but as the car we got from "Rent-a-wreck" litteraly was a wreck we weren`t sure if we would make it as our ferry from Oslo to Denmark left at 19.30... Anyway, things went smooth and we had 30 minutes to spend in Eidsvoll. Check out the interview (Norwegian) here! Arrived Oslo at 18.30 and got drunk on the boat to Hirtshals... |

Day 2 - Wednesday the 11th of June The boat arrived in Denmak at 08.00, and Espen H was the lucky one to drive to Århus. At 1200 we arrived and we soon found "Musikcafeen". We set up our instruments and had lots of time for soundcheck. Not too many people showed up at this gig (poor advertising), maybe about 25 when we started. At the end there were about 50, but they seemed to enjoy the gig. The place closed only 30 minutes after we finished playing, and the crew started drinking with us! Thanks to Thomas and the rest of the guys for their help and the party afterwards! |

Day 3 - Thursday the 12th of June We set off to the south and Kolding at 1400. We didn`t know anything about this place at all, so we had no expectations... Kolding was a nice little town, and the arrangers had done a really good job promoting the gig. This looked promising, as there were posters all over the town! The crowd in Kolding was much better than in Århus, about 60 people with a good attitude showed up. After the gig we were supposed to drive to Aalborg (about 3 hours), but as we really enjoyed staying in Kolding we asked to sleep in the backstage area. Met a lot of people after the gig, and didn`t sleep that much at all... Thank you Ulf, Sebastian and the rest of the guys working at Pitstop! |

Day 4 - Friday the 13th of June Both in Århus and Kolding they told us that Aalborg would be the best place for us to play, as this was the "Metal-capital" of Denmark. Needless to say; we really looked forward to playing at "Metalgrotten". 1000fryd was a small but nice place with a huge backstage area. (First time on the trip with a bed for every person...) The stage was small, but we all got onto it. The audience this night was fantastic! On the second song they sang along on the intro and knocked down our monitors :-/ A small place with more than 100 people get really hot and both the band, the audience and our equipment had some serious problems... The sound was not that good either, but the crowd didn`t seem to bother too much. As the stage didn`t have much light-equipment our friend Boyd took care of our "Lumsk-shop" instad. We sold a lot of CDs and shirts this night. Thank you to you all, thanks to you we didn`t loose that much on our trip... Thank you My for arranging the gig and taking good care of us! (Even breakfast at 0700 after staying up all night...) Thank you Claus for finding us on the internet and recommending us for My! |
